VP, Events, Experiences & Sponsorships

BNY MellonNew York, NY
$69,000 - $134,000

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced VP, Events & Experiences to join BNY's Strategic Programs and Events team. In this role you will lead the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of prominent experiences — including executive engagements, intimate C-suite roundtables, BNY-hosted flagship programs, major global industry events, strategic sponsorships, and World Stage Programs (BNY's premier thought-leadership platform at flagship industry conferences). You will partner closely with BNY senior leaders, business segments, and communications teams, and external partners to create distinctive experiences that deepen client relationships, advance business priorities, and strengthen BNY's presence on the global stage. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution and has demonstrated experience delivering visible programs involving senior leaders. You should be equally comfortable advising executives, shaping event or sponsorship strategy, managing global production and agency partners, and ensuring that the details of an executive roundtable are executed flawlessly.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in executive events, experiential marketing, strategic sponsorships, or global event programs — ideally within financial services, professional services, technology, or another complex B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading events and experiences involving senior executives and other senior leaders, both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio spanning intimate executive engagements and roundtables through large-scale, complex global events.
  • Experience developing and activating strategic event sponsorships, including executive engagement, client programming, brand activation, and sponsorship benefits.
  • Experience leading programs across multiple markets and geographies, working effectively with global teams, agencies, venues, and partners.
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to advise, prepare, and work directly with senior executives and their teams in visible environments.
  • Exceptional operational judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate issues, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing significant event budgets, agencies, contracts, and vendor negotiations.
  • Experience developing executive briefing materials, run-of-show documents, leadership prep, and other communications required for prominent participation.
  • Fluency with event technology (e.g., Cvent, ON24), CRM/project-management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Workfront), and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of select internal and external executive programs — from intimate peer roundtables to prominent client engagements, leadership gatherings, and thought-leadership platforms.
  • Lead BNY's participation in and activation around major global events, overseeing programs that bring together senior executives, clients, prospects, partners, and multiple internal stakeholders across markets.
  • Partner with business and marketing leaders to evaluate, activate, and maximize strategic event sponsorships — including sponsorship rights and benefits, executive engagement, client programming, and brand activation.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders and their teams, overseeing executive briefing materials, engagement strategy, speaking requirements, stakeholder coordination, and onsite support.
  • Translate business objectives and audience insights into distinctive experiences that strengthen client relationships, reinforce BNY's brand, and create meaningful opportunities for engagement.
  • Oversee all aspects of program delivery — including venues, production, creative, agencies, vendors, hospitality, registration, travel, security and protocol considerations, run-of-show, and onsite execution — while maintaining rigorous attention to detail.
  • Own program budgets and oversee agency and vendor relationships, contracting, negotiations, and financial performance, balancing experience quality with responsible investment.
  • Establish success measures and evaluate engagement, audience quality, business outcomes, sponsorship value, and ROI — translating results into recommendations for future investment across executive, global, and sponsorship programs.
  • Develop scalable processes, playbooks, and standards that raise the quality, consistency, and efficiency of executive and global event programs across BNY.
