About The Position

The Vice President of Enterprise Safety & Risk is a critical executive leader responsible for shaping and advancing the organization’s enterprise-wide safety vision, risk management strategy, and regulatory compliance framework. This role provides end-to-end leadership across safety, fleet risk, workers’ compensation, and operational risk mitigation, ensuring the protection of employees, customers, and the business while enabling sustainable growth. As a highly visible and influential executive, the role will drive both strategic direction and disciplined execution in a fast-paced, field-intensive, route-based environment. This leader will embed safety as a core business priority and operational differentiator, leveraging data, technology, and leadership engagement to deliver measurable improvements in safety performance, cost control, and culture. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of building, scaling, and transforming safety programs within distributed operations such as service, transportation, logistics, environmental services, utilities, or other route-based businesses. They will possess the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and translate enterprise strategy into practical, field-level impact. Reporting directly to the President of Anticimex North America, this executive will partner closely with all departments, Risk/Insurance Partners, and Senior Leadership across platforms to align safety strategy with business objectives, strengthen accountability, and drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience
  • Experience leading safety within a multi-site, field-based operating environment
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, fleet safety, workers’ compensation, and risk management
  • Experience leading safety programs across geographically dispersed operations
  • Proven ability to influence operations leaders and drive behavioral change
  • Strong experience with safety metrics, data analysis, reporting tools, and performance dashboards
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or environmental health or other related fields of study
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards safely and successfully
  • Ability to inspire and lead safety, conduct training sessions with large amounts of attendees, and influence organizational culture.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone
  • Must be able to navigate airports and travel in a plane or car for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Recognized certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP)/ Certified Safety Professional (CSP)/ or similar certifications
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, risk assessments, and emergency response planning
  • Proficiency in EH&S management software and tools.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: pest, environmental services, waste and recycling, logistics and transportation, utilities, facilities, construction, or route based commercial or residential services

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, enterprise-wide safety strategy aligned with business growth, operational complexity, and risk exposure
  • Provide executive leadership for all safety initiatives across the operating footprint, including branches, fleet, warehouses, facilities, and field technician environments
  • Establish and operationalize leading and lagging indicators, executive dashboards, and accountability frameworks to measure performance and drive results
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, advancing incident prevention, employee engagement, and enterprise risk mitigation
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, state department of agriculture regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local standards
  • Lead enterprise-wide audits, incident investigations, and corrective action programs, ensuring timely and sustainable resolution of issues
  • Own and continuously enhance safety policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and training programs to reflect best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and audit all positions for ergonomic impact and sustainability improvements
  • Lead the enterprise fleet safety strategy for a large, geographically dispersed, route-based workforce
  • Partner with operations and fleet leadership to improve driver performance, reduce preventable vehicle incidents, and maximize telematics and data-driven insights
  • Design and implement targeted programs addressing distracted driving, backing incidents, speed management, fatigue mitigation, and route risk optimization
  • Build and sustain a high-performance safety culture grounded in accountability, engagement, and proactive risk ownership
  • Coach and influence all department leaders to embed safety into daily decision-making and operational execution
  • Lead enterprise safety communications, leadership development initiatives, and recognition programs that reinforce positive behaviors
  • Serve as a visible, credible, and trusted executive partner across the organization
  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional and corporate safety professionals, building bench strength and leadership capability
  • Design and scale a robust safety infrastructure to support rapid growth, including acquisitions and geographic expansion
  • Standardize best practices and operating models while maintaining flexibility to meet regional and operational needs
  • Manage fleet, technical and workers comp team members
  • Manage and monitor time and absence of team members utilizing Workday
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff members
  • Oversee daily workflow of the department
  • Provide constructive and timely performance feedback and evaluations
