About The Position

The Vice President, Enterprise Project Management Officer will build Main Street Bank’s Project Management Office (PMO) from the ground up, bringing structure, prioritization, and accountability to regulatory, technology, and business initiatives across the Bank. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the position will establish project governance, enterprise intake and prioritization processes, portfolio reporting, and a scalable project management framework. While building the PMO, the role will directly manage the Bank’s highest-priority strategic and cross-functional initiatives and serve as the lead project manager until additional project management resources are established. The position owns the enterprise project portfolio and works across business lines and support functions, including Retail, Commercial, Operations, Technology, Risk/Compliance, Finance, and HR. It prepares project and portfolio reporting for executive leadership and the Board and exercises substantial independent judgment in project, resource, risk, and prioritization decisions. The role is hybrid-eligible after successful completion of training and demonstration of proven abilities, with availability expected during core business hours and an agreed number of on-site days per week or month. The remote workspace must be dedicated, distraction-free, adequately lit for video calls, and supported by reliable internet. The position requires regular attendance, discretion with confidential information, and compliance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and risk controls. Work takes place in a general office environment with moderate noise, with occasional movement around the Bank and occasional local travel. Schedules may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends to meet the Bank’s needs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Build and establish the PMO, including its charter, governance, community-bank-appropriate project methodology, status reporting, and post-project review processes.
  • Directly manage key enterprise, strategic, and cross-functional initiatives and serve as lead project manager for the Bank’s highest-priority projects while the PMO is developing.
  • Create and operate a single intake process to evaluate, sequence, and resource technology, regulatory, product, facilities, and other initiatives against strategic priorities and capacity.
  • Manage the enterprise project portfolio by tracking initiative status, budgets, risks, and interdependencies, and escalating issues proactively.
  • Establish and facilitate steering committees for major enterprise and strategic initiatives, bringing sponsors and business-line stakeholders together to set direction, resolve escalations, and approve key decisions.
  • Partner with Technology and Data teams to evaluate, implement, and optimize PMO and portfolio-management tools, and oversee business use of those platforms.
  • Provide regular, clear portfolio and project status reporting to executive leadership, including a live bank-wide dashboard, and prepare portfolio and project reporting for the COO and Board.
  • Lead change management to help the Bank adopt new processes, systems, and ways of working alongside project delivery.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and follow Bank policies, core values, service standards, Bank Secrecy Act requirements, compliance procedures, and operational risk controls.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance, complete required training, and perform other similar or related duties as assigned.
