VP Engineering

The VP Engineering role is responsible for managing and directing corporate engineering for the company. This includes strategic planning, team training, product design, quality assurance, and problem resolution. The VP Engineering will lead a globally distributed engineering team to deliver best-in-class technology solutions and ensure compliance with quality standards. They will also provide technical leadership, guidance, and hands-on project management for all product development activities, while ensuring that the product is fully defined and documented. Additionally, the VP Engineering will establish and maintain quality assurance processes, oversee customer issue resolution, and ensure department objectives are completed within budget and time frame.

• Manage and direct corporate engineering for the company
• Prioritize strategic planning, team training, product design, quality assurance, and problem resolution
• Execute product design to meet company objectives
• Partner with leadership to develop systems and controls for compliance with quality standards
• Lead a globally distributed engineering team to deliver best-in-class technology solutions
• Build, onboard, train, manage, and grow the engineering team
• Lead strategic planning and direction for product development activities
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and hands-on project management for all product development
• Provide technical leadership to development team(s)
• Optimize application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and customer requirements
• Define and document the product accurately and completely
• Design and release high-quality, high-performance enterprise software products/applications
• Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained
• Develop strategic quality programs for design changes, new products, enhancements, software creation and maintenance
• Establish quality assurance framework, processes, and metrics
• Establish processes and discipline for QA automation
• Identify and acquire appropriate tools for QA
• Ensure end-to-end testing is done per QA framework and standards
• Work with customer support teams to prioritize and fix customer issues in line with committed SLAs
• Ensure department objectives are completed within budget and committed time frame
• Formulate long-term objectives and performance standards for the department
• Plan, hire, and direct engineers to acquire necessary resources and meet scheduled commitments
• Provide engineering expertise, motivation, technical direction, and guidance
• Ensure accurate time estimates and implementation of formal processes to support product development
• Monitor industry trends to maintain and expand technology leadership position
• Use technology stack including Ruby, Ruby On Rails, Sidekiq, Enterprise, JavaScript, React

• Salary Range: $200,000-240,000/year

• Ability to build NetSuite Bundles and NetSuite API integrations
• Direct responsibility in design, implementation, and operation of public-facing API, especially REST API in the cloud
• Ability to develop software for Logistics & Warehousing industries and build solutions certified by FedX, UPS, and DHL
• Responsibility for security, versioning, scalability, and uptime
