About The Position

The US Chemicals and Agriculture team is looking for an experienced Vice President / Director to join its ranks. The ideal candidate will have between 5 to 10 years of work experience in either equity research or a buy side role, with a strong background in accounting, finance, and math. Ideal candidates will have experience in Chemical, Agriculture, Energy, or Industrial sectors. The team works closely together, and the candidate will work directly with the Senior Analyst and have exposure to all aspects of equity research including idea generation, maintaining a deep set of industry databases, research publication, financial modeling, attending company meetings, and client outreach. Ultimately, the candidate is expected to scale quickly, contribute meaningfully, and have a path to stock coverage. Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity are a must.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 5-10 Years of experience across equity research, investment banking, or buy side investments, prior stock coverage is a plus
  • Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Must have strong intellectual curiosity

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
  • Write regular industry and company reports
  • Present a solid understanding of industry fundamentals and drive material client interactions
  • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
  • Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity
  • Seek out new, unusual sources of information
  • Leverage our robust network of industry contacts
