About The Position

This role leads the Quality Assurance and Engineering (QA&E) organization, focusing on its practices, principles, solutions, frameworks, and continuous testing capabilities. The position involves managing the successful implementation of business-critical and large-scale strategic programs within an agile development environment. The role requires working with US Property and Casualty lines of business, including product features, forms, and regulatory environments, as well as various other insurance lines such as financial lines, property, casualty, specialty lines, cyber, multinational clients, and high net worth individuals. A key aspect is testing Policy Administration Systems and the Underwriting, Actuary, and Claims lifecycles. The VP will establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, manage complex large-scale programs with geographically separate scrum teams for automation, regression, feature, and system testing, and drive the technical strategy for quality engineering initiatives. Responsibilities include creating strategies, operating models, and plans for testing lifecycles, implementing standards, policies, and procedures for quality governance, and developing test artifacts, metrics, and reports for executive communication. The role also involves identifying and documenting quality-related risks, collaborating with Quality Management, Resource and Financial Management, Risk Management, and Vendor and Contract Management, reviewing quality issues, developing alternate plans, and making decisions with QA leadership input. Collaboration with development, program, and business teams throughout testing, assisting with UAT planning and defect management, and liaising with Business stakeholders are also crucial. Proactive identification of dependencies and gaps, creating Go-To green plans, and working with SAFe Agile, CI/CD, Cloud, and QA methodologies are essential. The role utilizes quality engineering with test automation tools like Selenium, Java, Jenkins, Github, Rally, Rest Assured, and Python.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience with SAFe Agile, CI/CD, Cloud, and QA methodologies
  • Quality engineering utilizing test automation tools, including Selenium, Java, Jenkins, Github, Rally, Rest Assured, and Python
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing complex large-scale programs consisting of multiple geographically separate scrum teams supporting automation, regression, feature testing, and system testing
  • Driving and implement technical strategy for quality engineering initiatives
  • Creating strategies, operating models, and plans for testing lifecycles

Responsibilities

  • Understand Quality Assurance and Engineering (QA&E) practices and principles, solutions, frameworks, and continuous testing capabilities to lead the specific capabilities of the DQ&E Organization.
  • Manage successful implementations of business critical/large scale strategic programs.
  • Perform the full software development lifecycle working in an agile development environment.
  • Work with US Property and Casualty lines of business including product features, forms, and regulatory environments and risks.
  • Work with different lines of business within insurance, including financial lines, property, casualty, specialty lines, cyber, multinational clients, and high net worth individuals.
  • Test Policy Administration Systems and test the Underwriting, Actuary, and Claims lifecycles.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the implementation of standards, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence and governance of quality standards and organizational controls.
  • Develop and manage test artifacts, metrics, and reports for QA activity to align with executive communication needs.
  • Identify and document key risk items related to quality and present to program leadership/relevant committees for mitigation.
  • Work with Quality Management, Resource and Financial Management, Risk Management, and Vendor and Contract Management.
  • Identify and review quality issues, develop alternate plans, and make decisions with input from QA leadership.
  • Collaborate with development and program and business teams throughout the testing phase.
  • Assist with UAT planning and defect management.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Business stakeholders.
  • Identify dependencies and gaps proactively and create a Go-To green plans.
