About The Position

The VP, Data & Information Innovation is a high-visibility senior leader in IQVIA’s Information Solutions & Supplier Services business. The role leads the development, delivery, execution, operation, maintenance, and support of the new US SCION Platform, which will serve as a foundation for current and next-generation offerings. The position reports to the Information Solutions lead and works across major US and global functions. As SCION shifts from development to delivery, day-to-day production operations, and large-scale customer transition, the role focuses on maintaining architectural integrity, enabling customer transitions, and scaling the platform to relaunch a new generation of offerings. The position provides senior technology and architecture leadership, connects architecture directly to development and customer-transition execution, and maintains accountability for quality, governance, operations, and business outcomes. The role is responsible for supporting SCION’s financial and operating objectives, sustaining its cross-functional operating model, and leading the transition of legacy and new customers to SCION-sourced information. It also preserves critical institutional knowledge and establishes architecture as an enduring organizational capability that connects current SCION execution with future Information Transformation priorities.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
  • Outstanding written, presentation-development and delivery, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to deliver results to appropriate quality and timeline metrics.
  • Strong team leadership skills, including a passion for team culture and development.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver SCION to production in 2027 and enable an operational framework in 2028 to support US Data customers and next-generation offerings across the US RBU.
  • Support SCION’s financial objectives, including legacy and mainframe retirement, operating-cost savings, and reductions in data-quality event customer penalties.
  • Own and protect SCION’s original design, architecture, technology, and capabilities.
  • Identify, define, propose, and seek approval for future SCION technology and capability enhancements.
  • Lead technology and architecture decisions across US RBU and coordinate with global counterparts to support sustainable operating economics and protect the broader SCION investment.
  • Provide architectural leadership across SCION-related and derivative investments, current and future development priorities, and approved design decisions; mitigate duplicative US and global development and unnecessary application customization.
  • Maintain accountability for architecture, technical standards, and cross-platform dependencies.
  • Institutionalize SCION’s Quality Strategy and Quality Gates and maintain alignment across data, technical, operational/process, and application architecture.
  • Preserve consistent data quality, governance, privacy, and a harmonized information manufacturing process.
  • Manage architectural and development discipline across the planned US CapEx and OpEx portfolio, and deliver identified cost opportunities, which remain subject to validation.
  • As a business leadership team member, create sustainable operational execution speed and accountability and preserve the “one team, no excuses” operating philosophy.
  • Maintain a single architectural decision point, keeping architecture connected to development and customer-transition execution across Development, Data Management, CDH, Methodology, Quality, Governance, and the business.
  • Prevent architectural responsibilities from fragmenting across teams and maintain clear accountability.
  • Lead and support migration of legacy and new customers to SCION-sourced information by mid-2028, including formal transition activity beginning in January 2027.
  • Maintain the architecture that defines SCION’s systems, subsystems, interfaces, external systems, and data-source relationships.
  • Manage transfer of institutional knowledge into a permanent accountable function and establish architecture capability for the organization SCION is creating.
  • Preserve SCION’s dedicated cross-functional leadership structure and provide continuity as SCION moves from a transformation program to an ongoing information manufacturing and delivery capability.
  • Establish Architecture as an enduring capability connecting SCION execution with future Information Transformation priorities.
