Healthcare- VP Controller
About The Position
8020 Consulting is seeking an experienced VP Controller to join their growing Dallas-Fort Worth team. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned accounting executive who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proven ability to lead finance organizations through growth, transformation, and complex business challenges. As a full-time consultant, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive leadership teams, leading critical accounting and finance initiatives for clients. The ideal candidate will bring both Big 4 public accounting experience and significant healthcare industry experience, enabling them to provide strategic guidance in highly regulated and rapidly evolving environments. Projects are matched to your expertise and designed to stretch your skills while delivering meaningful impact—without the need for extensive travel. You'll play a critical role in helping clients maintain compliance, improve reporting accuracy, optimize finance operations, and position their organizations for long-term success.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Big 4 public accounting experience required
- Significant healthcare industry accounting and finance experience required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Prior experience as a Controller, VP Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar senior accounting leadership role
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations
- Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations, healthcare providers, healthcare services, or related healthcare businesses
- Demonstrated success leading teams, managing complex projects, and partnering with executive leadership
- Experience with ERP implementations, finance transformations, and process improvement initiatives
Responsibilities
- Serve as interim VP Controller for a rapidly growing healthcare services organization
- Lead accounting and finance transformation initiatives for PE-backed healthcare companies
- Oversee month-end close optimization and financial reporting improvements across multi-entity organizations
- Implement and strengthen internal control frameworks and compliance processes
- Support acquisitions, integrations, and carve-outs for healthcare and other middle-market businesses
- Lead ERP implementations and finance system transformations
- Advise executive leadership on technical accounting matters, operational improvements, and scalability initiatives
