About The Position

We are looking for a VP Corporate Controller to join our Finance team. You will have executive responsibility for the global financial control function, including accounting, revenue, and accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Reporting to the CFO, this role requires a leader who is both operational and strategic, capable of thriving in a dynamic public company environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and maintaining a robust SOX control environment, while also mentoring and developing a high-performing global team.

Requirements

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 8+ years in management and at least 5+ years in a "Senior Director" or "Head of" role
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and being responsible for the financial control function within a large, multinational public company
  • In-depth expertise in IFRS standards and SOX compliance
  • Proven experience in directly managing multiple financial functions such as AR, AP, and Revenue
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development experience with high-performing, geographically dispersed teams
  • Solid experience in process transformation and automation aimed at reducing manual tasks, accelerating closing, and strengthening internal controls
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to executive management
  • Excellent command of English. As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, proficiency in English as a working language is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Define the company-wide strategic vision for financial control, revenue, AR, and AP functions, ensuring smooth financial operations.

  • Act as the ultimate strategic authority on global accounting policies and processes, influencing financial decisions that impact business strategy.
  • Be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of all financial statements and external regulatory filings.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring financial reports comply with IFRS, are timely, and accurate.
  • Manage the final relationship with external auditors and the Board of Directors' Audit Committee, directly presenting results and strategies.
  • Drive remediation efforts for identified control deficiencies, in collaboration with various functions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve control processes to reduce risks and enhance efficiency.
  • Define the global IFRS 15 policy for all complex revenue streams, ensuring absolute compliance and consistency across the organization.
  • Ensure complex revenue streams are accounted for correctly and comply with IFRS 15.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to provide guidance on contract structuring and new business initiatives.
  • Provide executive leadership for global AR and AP functions, defining a strategic vision focused on efficiency, automation, and strong internal controls.
  • Optimize the global order-to-cash (O2C) cycle to improve working capital, manage risks, and support the implementation of new collection technologies.
  • Define the strategic direction of the procure-to-pay process, ensuring its scalability, efficiency, and control robustness.
  • Define and promote the Finance function's global target operating model, guiding the Finance Transformation team on strategic automation priorities and leveraging technology to build a world-class financial reporting architecture.
  • Lead and implement initiatives to reduce manual tasks, shorten the closing cycle, and improve operational efficiency.
