About The Position

Looking for a highly skilled Vice President, Commercial Lines. This role supports customers and the brokerage team by providing exceptional customer service and acting as a broker representing the buyer. Strong Underwriting, Finance, or Legal background preferred. Lead and direct a dedicated team to ensure seamless service. Assist clients with navigating their options and making informed coverage decisions. Spearhead marketing initiatives. Develop and execute underwriting strategies to achieve profitability, growth, and portfolio management objectives. Manage and mentor underwriting staff, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to company standards. Collaborate with actuarial, claims, legal, and distribution partners to design innovative risk solutions for clients and brokers. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners. Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions. Provide authority guidance, referrals, and support for complex underwriting decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and advanced degree (JD, CPA, MBA) required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience, with insurance industry experience a plus.
  • Superior Communication skills, attention to detail
  • Comfort negotiating directly with underwriters
  • Superior skills with MS Office, specifically MS Excel
