About The Position

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Vice President of Category Management to lead the enterprise category sourcing and buying organization across energy, chemicals, packaging, media, and other strategic manufacturing inputs. This leader will build organizational capability through multiple leadership layers, align category strategies with business and segment priorities, and strengthen how Georgia-Pacific manages contracts, suppliers, risk, and value across the portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement. You will establish the leadership systems, decision frameworks, data capabilities, and operating discipline required to manage contract value and improve risk-adjusted outcomes in a complex, high-volume environment.

Requirements

Experience leading a large, multi-level organization through other leaders.
Experience establishing and executing enterprise-level strategies in a complex commercial, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain, trading, finance, or operational environment, with accountability for measurable business outcomes.
Experience evaluating market dynamics, incentives, uncertainty, tradeoffs, and risk-adjusted outcomes to make business decisions.
Experience designing and implementing organizational processes, systems, or operating capabilities that improve business performance and decision quality across a complex organization.
Experience leading significant transformation that changes how work is organized, governed, or executed.

Experience leading enterprise category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, trading, or commercial organization.
Experience applying Principle Based Management and the Five Dimensions as a supervisor.
Experience applying pricing mechanisms, contract economics, market structures, and optionality to evaluate commercial tradeoffs and risk-adjusted value.
Experience managing portfolios exposed to market volatility, supply risk, changing demand, or other forms of uncertainty.
Experience managing contracts as economic assets throughout the lifecycle, including identifying opportunities to preserve value, addressing changing conditions, and improve commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop 40+ employees through multiple leadership layers, applying Principle Based Management to clarify expectations, decision rights, and routines that build capability and deliver results.
Translate business and segment priorities into integrated category strategies, operating plans, and measurable portfolio outcomes.
Partners with business and segment leaders to jointly define priorities, resolve tradeoffs, and refresh plans as operating needs change.
Strengthen the management of contracts as economic assets by creating visibility into commercial terms, obligations, supplier performance, and exposure across the contract lifecycle.
Establish decision frameworks for evaluating incentives, tradeoffs, market structures, pricing mechanisms, optionality, and long-term risk-adjusted value.
Create a disciplined portfolio-management cadence that identifies changing economics, emerging risks, unclaimed value, and decisions requiring escalation.
Advance integrated data, systems, analytics, market intelligence, contract-management, and process-excellence capabilities that strengthen portfolio decisions.
Redesign roles, workflows, and governance for an AI-enabled operating environment, determining where automation can improve quality, speed, and control and where human judgment remains essential.
Clarify accountability and allocate work by comparative advantage across category strategy, contracts, and supplier performance.
Establish measures that emphasize value, risk, decision quality, capability development, and sustainable results rather than activity alone.
Build supplier relationships that reinforce productive, preferred partnerships while ensuring performance, accountability, and protection of contractual value.
