About The Position

The Integrated Solutions Division provides a wide variety of systems, products and solutions, to include Ground Combat Systems, Precision Targeting, Advance Munitions, Artillery & Mortars, C4I and HLS Solutions, Tactical Communication and significant FMS and FMS international offering. The Integrated Solutions portfolio generates around $400M a year with substantial growth opportunities ahead. Key Responsibilities: Consistent with plans to substantially develop and grow the Integrated Solutions portfolio, the company is now seeking to recruit a Vice President, Business Development for the Division. This represents an excellent opportunity for a strategically-minded and results-oriented business development leader to drive the profitable growth of the portfolio over the next several years. Reporting to the SVP/GM Integrated Solutions, the VP Business Development will be responsible for all aspects of business development within the IS Division. He/she will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a compelling and differentiated growth strategy and business plan for the Division across its various Business Areas and product lines. The VP Business Development must have a strong external and marketplace orientation, being highly comfortable building and managing relationships with customers, partners, and major OEMs. The successful candidate must be as comfortable externally as he/she is internally dealing with staff. Elbit is flexible as to where the successful candidate will be based, with a preference for one of the company’s main locations in Merrimack, NH, Fort Worth, TX or Washington, DC, with regular domestic and international travel as per the nature and requirements of the role.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in business, aerospace, engineering, or other relevant domain, ideally complemented by a Master of Business Administration.
  • The successful candidate will ideally bring a strong technical background which would help relative to internal and external credibility with engineering and program management professionals.
  • Brings primary functional depth in business development. Has business capture and proposal development/submission experience.
  • Experienced in the aerospace and defense sector.
  • A proven track record of successful, win-win complex negotiations.
  • Brings direct and proven experience selling to the U.S. Department of Defense – Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and SOCOM.
  • Has a strong network of senior-level relationships with the customer base in the U.S. Department of Defense and/or other agencies or arms of government
  • Experienced partnering with U.S. prime defense contractors and has ideally worked within second tier aerospace and defense suppliers similar to Elbit America, versus those who have worked exclusively with larger OEMs
  • Experienced in solution-selling, with long sales cycles and multiple decision-makers and influencers.
  • An undergraduate degree in business, aerospace, engineering, or other relevant domain, ideally complemented by a Master of Business Administration. The successful candidate will ideally bring a strong technical background which would help relative to internal and external credibility with engineering and program management professionals.
  • A strong leader of people with the orientation and ability to attract, develop, and retain a strong team of BD professionals.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the GM, develop and drive the execution of the Business Development activities for the IS Division so as to ensure that it achieves short- and long-term business goals.
  • Create, maintain and execute a Strategic Roadmap for the business unit.
  • Assess annual service budgets and long-range plans (Program Objective Memorandum) to recommend key areas to target within the service and which are in line with the company long-range roadmap.
  • Establish relationships and trust with current and potential industry and government customers with the goals of securing and expanding business sales.
  • Identify, prioritize, pursue, and realize organic and inorganic growth opportunities for the IS Division, including potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Partner with Washington colleagues to establish personal and professional relationships with the Army, Air Force and USMC service staffs., as well as Department of Defense procurement personnel and Congressional budget planning staff
  • Establish and maintain similar relationships with intracompany counterparts, including affiliate companies/partners
  • Proactively and continuously assess company capabilities (current and emerging) against customer requirements.
  • Assess and make recommendations for company to partner with other internal sites where opportunities exist for new business.
  • Build, Lead and supervise staff of Business Development professionals.
  • Train and improve overall business team in Opportunity qualification and capture
  • Represent Elbit America to and effectively communicate and liaise with customers, suppliers, partners, employees, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
