VP, Banks

TrustlyNew York, NY
$350,000 - $375,000

About The Position

As VP of Banks, you will own Trustly's US bank partnership strategy end to end — from identifying and negotiating new relationships to deepening existing ones and ensuring Trustly remains the preferred Open Banking partner for financial institutions. You'll bring a deep network in US banking, strong commercial instincts, and the technical fluency to represent Trustly credibly in conversations about payments infrastructure, ACH, RTP, and data access.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in financial services, payments, or fintech, with significant direct experience in bank partnerships, correspondent banking, or payments network development.
  • Established network of executive relationships at US financial institutions — you can open doors and build trust quickly at the C-suite and SVP level.
  • Deep understanding of US payments rails (ACH, RTP, FedNow, wire) and the regulatory environment governing bank-fintech partnerships and data sharing.
  • Strong commercial negotiator with experience structuring and closing complex partnership agreements in a regulated environment.
  • Technically fluent — comfortable discussing API connectivity, data access frameworks, and Open Banking architecture with bank technology leaders.
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial; comfortable operating in a fast-moving company where you'll often be the only person in the room with your expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Trustly's US bank partnership strategy — identifying target institutions, building relationships at the executive level, and closing agreements that expand Trustly's network and capabilities.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of existing bank relationships — deepening partnerships, resolving issues, and driving mutual value creation across Trustly's ODFI network and data partnerships.
  • Work closely with Product and Technology teams to translate bank partnership opportunities into product roadmap priorities and technical requirements.
  • Stay current on the US banking regulatory and competitive landscape — including ACH, RTP, FedNow, open banking regulations, and evolving data access frameworks — and advise Trustly's leadership accordingly.
  • Represent Trustly at industry events and forums relevant to bank partnerships, open banking, and payments infrastructure.
  • Build and lead a small, high-performing team of bank relationship managers as Trustly's banking network scales.
