The Vice President, Atellica Systems Portfolio serves as the global business and portfolio owner of Core Lab analyzer systems, accountable for long-term strategy, multi-year roadmap development, and sustained commercial performance. This role defines how analyzer systems are positioned, differentiated, launched, and scaled globally, ensuring the portfolio delivers compelling clinical, operational, and economic value to hospital, health systems, and reference laboratories. The VP is the senior internal authority on market needs, customer priorities, and competitive dynamics, translating insight into winning portfolio and go-to-market strategies. Operating at a global, enterprise level, this role partners closely with R&D, commercial leadership, medical, service, and zones to deliver profitable growth, increase market share, and strengthen long-term customer partnerships.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in diagnostics, IVD, or medical technology, with significant responsibility for global product or portfolio strategy.
  • Deep, hands-on Core Lab Diagnostics expertise required.
  • Proven success leading large, global portfolios and competing effectively against top-tier industry players.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level decision and guide high-stakes commercial strategies.
  • Strong track record of partnering with R&D to deliver differentiated, profitable products leadership.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, strong judgement, and a bias for action.
  • Experience leading and developing global teams within a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global strategy and lifecycle management of the Core Lab Atellica systems portfolio, from market insight and concept definition through launch, scale, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Define and execute a multi-year product roadmap aligned to customer needs, competitive dynamics, and long-term business objectives.
  • Establish clear portfolio properties and trade-offs across zones, balancing global scale with regional market requirements.
  • Define the competitive positioning and value proposition for Atellica systems to clearly differentiate our solutions at both clinical and enterprise levels.
  • Turn competitive intelligence into decisive portfolio and commercial strategies that drive share gain.
  • Lead the development of competitive playbooks and portfolio-level strategies for large, strategic Core Lab opportunities.
  • Serve as the global subject-matter expert on Core Lab analyzer systems, including laboratorians, hospital executives, reference labs, and health system leadership.
  • Leverage market research, customer engagement, and field insight to continuously refine portfolio strategy and business direction.
  • Define global go-to-market strategies for Atellica systems, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, and launch excellence.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to influence deal strategy, pricing architecture, and portfolio deployment in high-value, competitive accounts.
  • Ensure commercial teams are equipped with compelling messaging, sales tools, and scientific assets to win consistently.
  • Provide clear, authoritative customer and market requirements to guide R&D investment and development priorities.
  • Lead trade-off decisions balancing customer value, financial performance, and speed to market.
  • Serve as a senior partner to R&D throughout development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
  • Lead structure, global launches that drive rapid adoption, competitive displacement, and profitable growth.
  • Own post-launch performance, ensuring the portfolio meets commercial, customer, and financial expectations over time.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing global portfolio marketing team.
  • Operate as a core member of the Core Lab Solutions marketing leadership team, shaping integrated business and marketing strategy.
  • Drive alignment and execution across a complex, global matrix organization.
