About The Position

Area23 is seeking a VP, Associate Creative Director-Art to join their Creative team. This role involves leading and developing creative teams, collaborating with various departments, managing client relationships, and contributing to new business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong art direction skills, strategic thinking abilities, and a passion for developing award-worthy creative work.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Art Direction, and Design or related field.
  • Comprehensive digital portfolio demonstrating creative ability.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams) or equivalent.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Superior Art Direction Aptitude (Concepting, Creative tools/systems, execution).
  • Strong presentation ability.
  • Strong leadership & people management ability.
  • Strong ability to implement strategic thinking & problem solving.
  • Strong knowledge of Art and Design principles across media channels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong financial management and resourcing acumen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Art and Design or related field.
  • 0+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Develop smart, single-minded creative ideas that are unique and deliver on strategy.
  • Translate creative ideas and concepts into compelling, unique, and visually stunning final outputs.
  • Develop and mentor the creative team to achieve a high level of craft.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with creative, strategy, account, and other agency departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through creative leadership and successful output.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of client products, marketing objectives, and competitive activities to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Directly supervise Art teams, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Hire and retain highly capable people while fostering an inclusive and positive culture.
  • Manage administrative duties, ensuring the creative team is billable and fully utilized.
  • Participate in new business pitches and efforts to grow existing brands.
  • Participate in internal and external initiatives to elevate agency operations, community, and brand.
