VP, Apps & Tools

Namecheap

About The Position

Namecheap is seeking a VP of Apps & Tools to lead a portfolio of value-added services—including Email, SSL, VPN, CDN, security tools, marketing tools, SEO, and related add-ons—and shape it into an integrated, AI-forward suite and a key company growth engine. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this leader will guide multiple product leaders and own portfolio strategy, investment decisions, partnerships, product lifecycle choices, and long-term value creation. The role involves aligning the portfolio with Namecheap’s broader platform and growth goals while improving customer value and experience across a global customer base. The VP will set portfolio positioning and roadmaps; evaluate products and decide where to invest, improve, partner, deprioritize, or sunset; and ensure coherent segmentation, packaging, and pricing. They will pursue cross-sell and bundling opportunities and build integrated roadmaps with adjacent areas such as Web Presence and Domains. The role also owns strategic partnership decisions and performance, and defines how AI, automation, and agentic approaches can improve existing products or create new offerings. As a senior leader, the VP will lead portfolio teams through their respective leaders and align Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Finance around clear priorities and measurable outcomes. They will establish an operating model that supports disciplined execution, monitor market and technology trends, and translate competitive insights into portfolio decisions that strengthen differentiation and defensibility.

  • Success defining and executing portfolio strategy across core products, partnerships, and new growth initiatives.
  • Strong commercial acumen and deep expertise in subscription economics, segmentation, and lifecycle performance.
  • Experience leading senior cross-functional organizations through significant portfolio change while keeping teams engaged and aligned.
  • Candor and integrity, including willingness to challenge the status quo and commitment to doing the right things in the right way.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable revenue and margin impact in product-led technology or platform businesses.
