The VP, AI Transformation for Life Sciences will lead Qualified Health's life sciences engagements from start to finish. This individual will be the primary point of contact and day-to-day owner for active pharma accounts and sponsors. The role is hands-on, encompassing commercial, product, and delivery aspects. Responsibilities include structuring and pricing deals, defining the product for life sciences partners, driving implementation across health system partners, and managing sponsor relationships post-contract. The role involves close collaboration with product, data, clinical, and engineering teams, operating at the intersection of pharmaceutical sponsors, health systems, and generative AI. This position offers significant breadth in commercial, product, and delivery, with the chance to shape the acquisition, development, and deployment of healthcare AI in provider and life sciences environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM, Business Administration, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of life sciences consulting, pharma commercial or medical affairs, healthcare data products, or health-tech client delivery at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder engagements end-to-end, including commercial structuring, product definition, or large-scale implementation.
  • Direct experience selling to, delivering for, or working inside a pharmaceutical sponsor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with clinical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proactive, structured problem-solving skills, particularly around regulatory, compliance, and implementation risk.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills; ability to manage multiple high-stakes engagements in parallel.
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • A strong customer-centric mindset, committed to delivering value to the sponsor and the health system simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PharmD, MD, or PhD) is preferred.
  • Direct exposure to the life sciences or pharma operating model (Medical Affairs, RWE, HEOR, Data Strategy, or Commercial) and a working understanding of how pharma sponsors buy data and evidence.
  • Experience navigating health system stakeholders (CMO, CMIO, clinical operations, informatics) and understanding deployment success factors.
  • Comfort with the legal, regulatory, and FMV dynamics of life sciences-funded work in a provider environment, including anti-kickback considerations and tri-party contracting.
  • Experience contributing to a product or data product, owning deliverables, quality, and the seams between engineering and the customer.
  • Experience with data integration processes and various client data environments (EMR, claims, lab, registry data).
  • Hands-on use of modern AI tools (LLMs, agentic workflows) in day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

  • Help structure life sciences deals end-to-end, from term sheet to signed scope of work, partnering with leadership, legal, and external FMV firms to ensure compliance, defensibility, and scalability.
  • Contribute to and refine pricing strategy across various deal types (platform fee, per-build, per-screen, per-cohort, hybrid) based on market feedback.
  • Navigate the unique FMV, compliance, and tri-party contracting dynamics specific to pharma-funded work within a provider setting.
  • Define the data product for life sciences partners, including deliverables, schema, reporting cadence, and data anonymization/aggregation strategies, ensuring sponsor value without compromising health system relationships.
  • Translate sponsor needs into business and product requirements for the product team, and assist with prioritization and project management for life science commitments.
  • Identify new use cases and opportunities for incremental value across the portfolio.
  • Own the pharma sponsor relationship for each life sciences engagement and oversee implementation across health system partners, from data integration to go-live and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with the Data team on life sciences deliverables, including data integration, cohort definition, deliverable production, validation, and quality assurance.
  • Perform workflow analysis, identify value creation areas, assess AI fitness, and define product-related change management for adoption, workflow integration, and sustained impact.
  • Coordinate with health-system-facing teams to ensure valuable workflow integration, preserve clinical intent, and demonstrate clear value to the health system.
  • Own day-to-day life sciences sponsor relationships post-signature, including managing recurring meetings, executing contract scope, coordinating workstreams, and delivering promised value.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsor counterparts across executive, scientific, and operational stakeholders (Medical Affairs, RWE, HEOR, Data Strategy, Commercial).
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts, across new therapeutic areas, use cases, or business units.
  • Develop and manage Partnership Plans for each engagement, outlining business goals, KPIs, project milestones, and the joint value story.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to clients, sponsors, and internal stakeholders.
