About The Position

AESC is looking to add a VP, Advanced Power Solution working remotely in the US. This is a Full-Time, Remote position. AESC is a global battery technology company developing and manufacturing high-performance batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. AESC reports more than 100 GWh of installed capacity for battery energy systems across more than 60 countries. The AIDC sales leader will translate this technology, manufacturing scale, and energy-storage expertise into differentiated power solutions for the world’s most demanding digital-infrastructure customers. AI infrastructure is changing the scale, speed, and reliability requirements of data-center power. AESC is seeking a senior commercial leader to establish and expand strategic relationships across the AI data center (AIDC) ecosystem and convert those relationships into large, repeatable revenue programs. This role will own the pursuit of hyperscalers, neoclouds, cloud service providers, colocation operators, internet service providers (ISPs), carriers, AI infrastructure developers, and other mission-critical customers. The mandate is to position and sell an AESC-led, energy-storage-backed total power solution that improves availability, resilience, power quality, speed to energization, operating flexibility, and lifecycle economics. In addition, the role will serve as the senior commercial owner for AIDC strategic accounts, build executive trust, understand each customer’s power roadmap, assemble the right technical and commercial solution, and lead the full opportunity lifecycle from market entry and design influence through contract award, delivery governance, expansion, and renewal.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive enterprise sales, strategic account, or business-development experience in data centers, critical power, energy infrastructure, BESS, microgrids, electrical equipment, or adjacent mission-critical systems.
  • At least 5 years of direct, quota-carrying experience selling to hyperscale customers, with demonstrable knowledge of their engineering, procurement, qualification, security, contracting, and deployment processes.
  • Established executive and technical relationships across multiple AIDC customer types, including hyperscalers and at least two of the following: neoclouds, AI labs/platforms, cloud service providers, colocation operators, ISPs/carriers, data-center developers, or large enterprise operators.
  • A verifiable record of personally originating, leading, and closing—or playing the decisive commercial role in—cumulative booked revenue in the hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars (normally US$200 million+), including multiple complex, multi-year transactions.
  • Working fluency in data-center electrical infrastructure and power economics, including load profiles, redundancy, power quality, availability, utility interconnection, medium-voltage distribution, UPS/backup architecture, generation, BESS, power conversion, controls, commissioning, and relevant safety considerations.
  • Proven success navigating long, competitive sales cycles and complex buying committees while converting technical value into quantified customer outcomes such as faster energization, reduced downtime risk, improved resilience, lower total cost, and enhanced sustainability.
  • Demonstrated skill in pricing, margin management, contract negotiation, performance and warranty terms, risk allocation, supply commitments, and executive-level investment cases.
  • Ability to lead without relying on hierarchy, align global and regional teams, communicate clearly with boards and engineers, and perform effectively in a high-growth, matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; willingness to travel approximately 30–50% and support global customer engagements across time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct sales experience with BESS, battery systems, microgrids, UPS, power conversion, distributed energy resources, or integrated critical-power solutions for data centers.
  • Experience securing design wins, approved-vendor status, master supply agreements, strategic framework agreements, or multi-site deployment programs with Tier 1 customers.
  • A record of opening new strategic accounts and building a market or commercial function from an early stage.
  • Familiarity with standards and requirements commonly relevant to energy storage and data-center power, such as UL, IEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEC, fire/life-safety, cybersecurity, and commissioning practices.
  • Master’s degree or MBA; international sales experience and cross-cultural negotiation capability.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic account ownership. Create and execute account plans for priority hyperscalers, neoclouds, cloud/AI platforms, colocation providers, ISPs, carriers, and large data-center developers; map decision makers across infrastructure, energy, engineering, procurement, finance, sustainability, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Pipeline and revenue creation. Build a multi-year, risk-adjusted pipeline; identify greenfield, expansion, capacity-constrained, behind-the-meter, backup-power, grid-interactive, and resilience opportunities; establish pursuit priorities and consistently deliver against bookings, revenue, margin, and cash objectives.
  • Total-solution selling. Lead consultative discovery and translate customer requirements into an energy-storage-backed power architecture. Coordinate AESC offerings and qualified ecosystem partners across BESS, power conversion, UPS/backup functionality, medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, microgrids, controls/EMS/SCADA, generation, renewable integration, and utility interconnection, as applicable.
  • Complex deal leadership. Own the full commercial cycle: qualification, solution shaping, RFI/RFP response, business case, pricing, bankability, warranties, performance guarantees, service model, supply terms, contract negotiation, internal approvals, and executive close.
  • Customer and ecosystem influence. Develop durable C-suite and technical relationships and influence specifications early. Build partnerships with EPCs, utilities, IPPs, developers, engineering consultants, OEMs, integrators, and critical-power providers that increase AESC’s reach and win probability.
  • Voice of the market. Convert customer roadmaps and competitive intelligence into clear product, certification, manufacturing, localization, financing, and service requirements. Partner with product, engineering, operations, finance, legal, supply chain, and project delivery to strengthen market fit.
  • Executive operating cadence. Maintain disciplined CRM data, stage-gate reviews, forecast accuracy, deal economics, risk registers, and executive reporting. Surface blockers early and drive cross-functional decisions with pace and accountability.
  • Market leadership. Represent AESC at customer executive forums, industry events, and partner meetings; develop a credible point of view on AI load growth, grid constraints, energy resilience, power quality, sustainability, and data-center total cost of ownership.
  • Commercial capability building. Initially operate as a hands-on senior individual contributor and player-coach; codify the account, pursuit, and partner model and help build the AIDC commercial organization as the business scales.
