About The Position

The Vice President, Accounting & Financial Control is a senior finance leader responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of accounting and financial reporting across all legal entities within the Group. Working closely with the VP Accounting Operations, VP Accounting Policy, and VP External Reporting, this role provides financial oversight over the Group's legal entities, ensuring that accounting outputs are accurate, well-understood, and aligned with Group policies and reporting requirements. This position serves as a critical bridge between accounting, FP&A, and Finance Business Partners, providing insightful analysis of financial performance and balance sheet positions while driving consistency, transparency, and strong financial governance across the organization.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of financial accounting, consolidations, and legal entity reporting.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify accounting risks and financial trends.
  • Excellent understanding of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate accounting outcomes into business insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience operating within a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high-performing finance teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting within a complex multinational organization.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience partnering with FP&A and senior business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end accounting oversight for all legal entities across the Group.
  • Review and challenge accounting outputs produced by the Accounting Operations team to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Group accounting policies.
  • Ensure financial statements accurately reflect the underlying business activities and transactions of each legal entity.
  • Drive consistency in accounting treatments and financial reporting across the Group.
  • Supervise a Specialist Corporate Accounting Group responsible for complex areas such as debt, acquisitions and dispositions, intercompany transactions, and corporate journal processing.
  • Perform detailed reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements at the legal entity level.
  • Analyse financial results, identify unusual trends, unexplained movements, or potential accounting issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Validate the integrity of balance sheet reconciliations and assess the quality of reported financial information.
  • Ensure financial results are supported by robust analytical review prior to Group reporting.
  • Partner closely with FP&A to explain actual financial performance, accounting impacts, and key drivers of results.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to ensure accounting outcomes appropriately reflect commercial activities and operational decisions.
  • Support business initiatives by providing accounting insight into complex transactions and organizational changes.
  • Act as the primary accounting advisor for legal entity financial performance.
  • Maintain strong financial governance over legal entity accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance standards.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and improve financial transparency.
  • Support internal and external audit activities relating to entity accounting.
  • Work collaboratively with the VP Accounting Operations to ensure high-quality accounting execution, the VP Accounting Policy on technical accounting matters and implementation of new accounting standards, and the VP External Reporting to support statutory and Group reporting requirements.
  • Drive alignment across the broader Accounting & Reporting function.
  • Lead initiatives to improve reporting quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance and the wider business.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial excellence.
  • Develop and mentor members of the Accounting & Reporting team.
  • Champion best practices in financial review, governance, and analytical accounting.
