About The Position

This job oversees the strategic vision, long term planning, direction and overall accountability for system-wide access, revenue cycle and digital functions. It communicates and interprets organizational and departmental mission goals and objectives to all clinical areas of responsibility within Information Services. The role partners with operational and corporate divisions on business and clinical strategies and objectives, and provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of technical activities within Information Services. In close coordination with the CIO and executive leadership, this job is accountable for all patient-related systems. It works with and advises business and clinical leadership to meet strategic and operational objectives through the use of effective information technology, and ensures that IS projects are appropriately prioritized and executed. The role collaborates with the CIO and Information Services leadership team in all areas of administration, including employee engagement, operating and capital budgeting, expense management, and special projects, and actively contributes to the development of IS planning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery information systems, OR 8 years of experience with a master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to executive management, professionals and business and community leaders.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to be self-directed, demonstrate excellent judgment, and handle difficult situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience installing and supporting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality of care and customer satisfaction measured by division performance reviews, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Oversees new technology and innovations, all clinical systems, and education & training to support cutting edge patient care and services.
  • Ensures operational profitability with sound financial performance.
  • Develops and achieves long-term strategic business plans through effective relationship building, communication, planning, and fundraising.
  • Oversees and develops organizational structures, programs, and processes.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Maintains and complies with its Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
