About The Position

Openwork is partnering with the Harris County Tax Office to hire Bilingual Voter Registration & Customer Service Specialists for the upcoming election season. We are specifically seeking candidates who are fluent in English and either Chinese or Vietnamese to help serve our diverse community. If you're detail-oriented, enjoy helping people, and have strong customer service or administrative experience, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable government experience.

Requirements

Bilingual in English and either Chinese or Vietnamese is required.
High school diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of customer service or administrative experience.
Typing speed of 35 WPM or higher (testing required).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a professional work ethic.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred for advanced research roles paying up to $25.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Research and update voter registration records using multiple databases.
Review and verify voter information for accuracy and compliance.
Answer high-volume inbound calls regarding voter registration and application status.
Process voter registration applications, address changes, and related documents.
Enter and maintain accurate records using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Provide professional, courteous customer service to the public.
Maintain confidentiality while following all county policies and procedures.
