We are seeking a dynamic volunteer support manager to lead volunteer engagement, retention, and support initiatives across our organization. In this role, you will provide leadership to a team of volunteer support professionals, oversee volunteer recognition programs, resolve complex volunteer issues, and develop innovative strategies that strengthen the volunteer experience. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with experience in volunteer management, team supervision, and customer engagement who is committed to creating an inclusive environment where volunteers and staff can thrive. ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION We are one of 111 councils chartered by GSUSA, the world's leading organization dedicated solely to girls, where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success. In partnership with caring adults, girls develop qualities to serve them all their lives: strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their potential and self-worth. We serve almost 7,000 girls throughout southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. With the guidance of over 5,000 dedicated and trained volunteers, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. From exploring science, technology and the environment to learning about healthy living, anti-bullying and financial literacy, girls are given opportunities to be challenged and learn new skills. SUMMARY OF POSITION The volunteer support manager is responsible for providing management oversight of volunteer support specialists, new leader specialist, and troop and service unit volunteers to achieve Council-wide retention goals. They are responsible for providing leadership in the development of innovative strategies, effective service, and conflict resolution for supporting girl and adult membership through the service unit structure.
