About The Position

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions. Requirements

  • 2 years college or equivalent
  • Six months office/clerical experience or equivalent training
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard computer programs, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Detail oriented and basic organizational skills
  • Experience in a hospital setting with emphasis on working with volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a back-up to the reception area by answering phones, triaging patient staff and community requests and assisting with walk-in inquiries.
  • Assist with training and delegating patient requests to office volunteers.
  • Assist with order supplies and maintaining department supply.
  • Assist in maintaining flow of paperwork and insure files are complete for each volunteer according to TJC, HIPAA, Infection Control, Accident and Liability and Occupational Health standards
  • Assist with collecting and maintaining data for statistical reports
  • Entering volunteer data in the volunteer data base and printing reports as needed
  • Maintain and organize all work spaces in Volunteer Office especially in the storage area and front reception area
  • Assist with special projects and events
