The Volunteer Program Coordinator will support GLIDE’s volunteer department, administering individual volunteer programs and strategic initiatives. This position will conduct volunteer outreach and recruitment, volunteer scheduling, support with volunteer recognition initiatives and events, and contribute to the design and implementation of new programs and initiatives. This individual will help the department increase the number of volunteers at GLIDE, increase volunteer retention and repeat volunteerism, and support Community Service volunteers to acquire new skills and access pathways to employment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a non-profit, education, or social impact organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a front-facing role working with large groups, such as delivering presentations, facilitating workshops, planning/executing group events, etc. required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively with frequent interruptions.
  • Works well under pressure, excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse community, including volunteers who are unhoused or previously incarcerated, middle and high school students, families, and corporate employees.
  • Proficiency using MS Office, with experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce, ideal.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with volunteers such as volunteer coordination, recruitment, and scheduling highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and steward volunteers arriving and departing for their shifts.
  • Schedule and conduct virtual and in-person orientations, as well as debriefs, for individuals and groups.
  • Conduct group presentations, administer workshops, and facilitate groups.
  • Liaise with internal departments to add new volunteer opportunities.
  • Support the recruitment, retention, and success of all volunteers at GLIDE across multiple programs.
  • Support with the design, development and administration of GLIDE’s group Service-Learning Programming; contribute to the creation of new materials, curriculum, workshop content, and marketing materials.
  • Develop relationships with referring partners such as schools, city government departments, community-based organizations, universities, and companies.
  • Support with the development and implementation of volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives and/or events.
  • Conduct research on corporate giving programs and in-kind donation programs.
  • Participate in committees for special events, holiday activities, fundraisers, etc.
  • Attend off-site volunteer recruitment events, deliver off-site presentations, represent GLIDE at external meetings, and conduct outreach such as tabling at events.
  • Respond to incoming voicemail and email inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities.
  • Coordinate and process in-kind donations.
  • Use Salesforce and volunteer CRM to track volunteer hours and create reports, support data entry/collection, review data for accuracy, and track programmatic impact via KPI’s and impact reports.
