About The Position

A Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) Volunteer Manager provides leadership in determining, implementing, and evaluating volunteer and donor programs under the supervision of the Extension Agents. The volunteers assist in program delivery for Agriculture and Natural Resource and 4- H Youth Development Programs and other community needs.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience at the time of employment in a relevant discipline.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
Personal mobility/transportation and flexible working hours required as there are night and weekend work hours and travel throughout the county.
Volunteer supervisory skills with minimal supervision in an unstructured setting.
Ability to communicate effectively with broad audiences.
Must have a driver's license check with an acceptable and safe driving record.
Must have a criminal conviction check.

A certification as a Volunteer Manager (CVM) is favorable.
Establishes ability to recruit, select, train and manage volunteers.

Leading groups, planning and implementing, facilitating, teaching and evaluating educational and informational programs.
Conducting community assessments.
