Volunteer - Home Delivered Meals Driver
About The Position
Kenneth Young Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to individuals of all walks of life. Located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, we offer a wide range of services including outpatient therapeutic care, recovery-oriented support, community prevention, LGBTQ+ outreach, older adult services, and crisis intervention. The Home Delivered Meals program is based out of KYC'S Elk Grove Village location, servicing the surrounding suburbs. Drivers will assist in the pick up and delivery of meals, conduct friendly drop-offs of meals with seniors, and communicate with the Home Delivered Meals coordinator to ensure a positive and successful experience.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or above
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
- Must pass a background check
- Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 25lbs
Responsibilities
- Deliver meals using personal vehicle to local seniors within the Northwest Suburbs
- Collect meals from dispatcher
- Conduct quick assessments of seniors, communicate any updates / changes to Older Adult staff
