A LifeWise teacher will combine in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities to share the gospel with churched and unchurched public school students in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching children. The role requires completing the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching, participating in the annual LifeWise Summit, and attending at least one Teachers' Lounge or LifeWise Meet-Up per year. Teachers must stay updated by regularly checking LifeWise email. Key responsibilities include utilizing the LifeWise curriculum for lesson planning and customization, implementing it in the classroom, and investing in connecting with students through relationship building and prayer. The teacher is expected to cultivate an organized, encouraging, and engaging classroom environment using various teaching strategies and redemptive discipline, while applying LifeWise policies, procedures, and resources. Administrative duties involve taking and providing attendance records, maintaining accurate class rosters with student health concerns, special needs, and photo permissions, and preparing materials for substitute teachers. Classroom maintenance includes keeping the space clean, attractive, and well-ordered, knowing emergency procedures, and purchasing supplies with provided funds. Communication is vital, acting as a LifeWise Academy ambassador, attending school open houses and outreach events, maintaining dialogue with school personnel regarding schedules and student well-being, building relationships with volunteers, submitting regular updates, and promoting LifeWise's religious mission in all interactions.
