About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator serves The Navigators by providing coordinating and administrative support to the Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake volunteers. The role's primary purpose is to advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. This position focuses on managing volunteer applications, scheduling, communication, database maintenance, and supporting departmental marketing and events.

Requirements

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3 years of experience in an administrative or volunteer coordinating role.

Responsibilities

  • Processes volunteer applications and coordinates volunteer interviews, including scheduling, orientations, and reference checks.
  • Maintains the volunteer database and organizes office files.
  • Composes and sends communications to volunteers.
  • Handles phone calls, emails, and messages within the department promptly and courteously.
  • Processes and responds to requests for information efficiently.
  • Enters volunteer hours into the database and compiles monthly hours reports.
  • Schedules educational tours.
  • Assists in departmental marketing by updating the department website and promotional materials.
  • Coordinates the Madrigal (Glen Eyrie Christmas event) volunteer application and scheduling process.
  • Assists in coordination of GSP housing and meals.
  • Schedules events such as SOWER breakfasts, appreciation luncheons, trainings, and recruitment events.
  • Prepares administrative documents such as letters, mailings, and reports.
  • Performs administrative functions related to on-campus housing for staff and volunteers.
  • Coordinates requests for volunteers from Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake Camp Departments and assists in assigning volunteers.
  • Stocks and maintains snacks and drinks for the volunteer lounge.
  • Creates a positive and welcoming environment for volunteers, guests, and staff.
  • Assists with service exchange groups by coordinating safety briefings and delivering water/snacks.
  • Participates in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other developmental events.
  • Participates in annual processes such as Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other required releases.
  • Submits time worked weekly through the Workday Time Tracking system.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
