About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services & locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. The Volunteer Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the PCH Volunteer/Chaplain programs including recruitment, screening, placement, retention, appreciation, and development. Respond to all volunteer inquiries, and have a general idea of the volunteer needs for the organization.

Requirements

  • Degree in business management, human resources or similar field.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Have job-related experience managing people and/or volunteer programs, leading teams and/or organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and build rapport with people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to all volunteers and especially with the officers of the PCH Volunteers and the Chaplains.
  • Develop, promote, and maintain a range of volunteer opportunities within the Organization.
  • Conduct and/or arrange volunteer orientation, training, annual in-services, and other requirements.
  • Schedule volunteers to ensure support of areas of operations.
  • Attend Volunteers and Paris Ministerial Association meetings and activities.
  • Organize volunteer recognition, achievements and special events.
  • Work with Marketing/Public Relations to publicize, events and opportunities for volunteers.
  • Maintain records and provide reports on volunteer hours.
  • Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate all aspects of volunteer programs to ensure effectiveness and recommend/implement changes as appropriate.
  • Work with buying committee and vendor representatives to stock merchandise for gift shop, fundraisers, recognition, and other needs as they arise.
  • Maintain Volunteers and Chaplains mailing and contact lists and work with safety officer, occupational health, and other areas to keep updated Volunteer and Chaplain lists.
  • Facilitate Patient Family Advocacy Council in conjunction with Hospital Engagement Network (HEN).
  • Provide speakers/education and report feedback to CEO and appropriate department managers.
  • Work with Christmas Decorating Committee to coordinate setting up, decorating, taking down and storing Hospital displays for Christmas holiday.
