Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to recruit, train, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate volunteers.
Understanding of the hospice philosophy and the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care.
Someone who is organized, dependable, compassionate, and enjoys working with people.

Nice To Haves

advanced degree in human services preferred
Hospice and/or volunteer program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Recruit, interview, educate, and support hospice volunteers.
Develop and maintain volunteer orientation and training programs.
Conduct at least three volunteer recruitment sessions each year.
Work with patients, families, caregivers, and the hospice team to identify volunteer needs.
Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate volunteers.
Maintain volunteer records, personnel files, and monthly program statistics.
Coordinate volunteer support and educational meetings.
Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings.
Represent Gallagher Hospice at community events and educate individuals and organizations about hospice volunteer services.
Help develop and continually improve the volunteer program.
Participate in QAPI activities and teams.
Assist with budget planning and program development as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
