About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Volunteer Assistant supports the recruitment, coordination, and recognition of volunteers while also assisting in the planning and execution of events. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive volunteer experience and ensuring the smooth operation of organizational events. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED with two years of office or related experience required.
Clerical skills with basic mathematics and computer background.
Good organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality as well as interpersonal/communication skills.
Ability to read, write and do math as generally demonstrated by a high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

An associate’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Prior experience working with volunteers or in event coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides clerical/administrative support for the volunteer department’s function throughout the organization.
Provides assistance to volunteers, addressing questions, providing guidance, and helping resolve any concerns.
Help plan, organize, and execute special events, including community outreach activities, fundraisers, and internal celebrations.
Assist in event day operations, including registration, guest support, and clean-up.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
