Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, dedicated to providing comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, with a specialization in serving Latinos in Washington State. Sea Mar serves all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. The organization operates over 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics, along with various nutritional, social, and educational services. This is a full-time volunteer position with a modest living allowance stipend, not a full-time job. AmeriCorps members receive a prorated stipend over their service term and an education award upon successful completion. The Patient Health Navigator program aims to assist patients in accessing appropriate care, establishing a medical home, ensuring pre- and post-visit needs are met, and facilitating health education. Navigators also provide translation/interpretation services as needed, and their duties are customized to the host clinic's specific needs.
