About The Position

The Department of Otolaryngology is currently seeking a temporary Voluntary Research Scholar to work in Miami. The Voluntary Research Scholar is a University appointment for Jackson-employed residents or fellows participating in research initiatives as part of their training. This appointment provides opportunities to be Investigators on grants. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Prepares research proposals with detailed rationale, background data, and proposed methods and organization. Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results. Collects pilot data to help support new and competing renewal applications. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Maintains data files and conducts data analysis. Drafts and publishes manuscripts and articles for peer-reviewed journals. Prepares and submits grant applications. Designs, executes, interprets, and integrates scientific data. Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences. Requirements

  • MD or Ph.D. in relevant field
  • Must be working as a resident or fellow in University of Miami program.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
