About The Position

Overview Investigate the detailed mechanisms underlying microglial activation in HAND and drug addiction. One post-doctoral position is available immediately in the department of Anatomy and Pathology, Eastern Virginia Medical School. The candidates will work with a team of scientists exploring the role of microglia in the development of HIV-associated neurological disorders (HAND) and drug addiction. The successful candidate should have the experience on cell culture, WBs, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence, etc. Animal skills are necessary and surgical experience will be greatly appreciated. The candidate will have principle on neuroscience and be a team-worker. The candidate should able to interact with other scientists presently working in the lab, including other post docs and research techs. All NIH policy and regulation apply to this position. Responsibilities The postdoctoral fellow positions will manage NIH-funded studies that are exploring the role of neuroimmune signaling in HAND and in the development of drug addiction. The candidates should be able to work with rodent models. All these projects are supported by high collaborative, multidisciplinary teams of scientists and extensive core services in the Center for Integrative Neuroscience and Inflammatory Diseases at EVMS. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
