About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Network Services Administrator to serve as the Senior Unified Capabilities SME of operation, security, and lifecycle management of enterprise VoIP and VTC systems, ensuring high availability, resilience, and compliance across the Unified Capabilities environment. This role serves as the senior technical authority for UC services, coordinating closely with network engineers, government stakeholders, RCC leadership, and vendors to translate mission requirements into stable, scalable, and secure UC solutions. The SME drives modernization, oversees complex incident response, manages system resources, and ensures that all UC platforms meet operational, performance, and security standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years work experience w/o a BS/BA
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • 2 years VoIP & VTC System Administration

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior SME for VoIP and VTC services, ensuring stable, secure, and mission‑ready UC operations.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and update enterprise VoIP and VTC platforms to ensure service integrity and high availability.
  • Lead software upgrades, patching, configuration governance, and failover planning to maintain continuity of service.
  • Provide senior‑level troubleshooting and escalation support for complex UC incidents, balancing immediate restoration with long‑term architectural stability.
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and response times to maintain optimal operating efficiency.
  • Apply patches, perform vulnerability scans, maintain security documentation, and ensure compliance with all security policies.
  • Maintain system diagrams, configuration baselines, capability documentation, and security settings for all UC systems.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with government customers, RCC leadership, and vendors, providing operational updates and risk reporting.
  • Process incident tickets, service requests, and change requests while ensuring minimal service disruption.
  • Conduct availability monitoring and trend analysis to identify issues, optimize performance, and guide future improvements.
  • Recommend enhancements to UC infrastructure, including hardware, software, and architectural changes.
  • Provide recommendations for hardware/software purchases and coordinate installation and backup recovery strategies.
  • Notify government stakeholders of any high‑impact incidents affecting mission‑critical UC services.
