About The Position

Piper Companies is seeking an VoIP Engineer to support a leading telecommunications company and assist with the migration from legacy TDM systems to modern VoIP/SIP technologies. The ideal VoIP Engineer must have an active Secret clearance and will be onsite in Norfolk, VA 5 days per week.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in telephony or network engineering supporting enterprise-level voice systems.
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance.
Knowledge of PBX systems, including configuration and troubleshooting of features such as call waiting, call transfer, and IP-based settings.
Experience with provisioning in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
Hands-on experience with telephony migrations, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
Compliance with DoD 8140 and possession of CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

Provide operational support for telephony systems across VoIP/SIP environments.
Proficient in troubleshooting and analyzing SIP messaging.
Diagnose and resolve issues at the SIP protocol level.
Verify and ensure proper functionality of PBX features after implementation.
Participate in lab testing, system validation, and deployment activities to ensure readiness for production environments.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of voice services.
