If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity: Who we are looking for: Rogers together with Comwave is looking for a highly motivated full-time Voice and Video Operations II in our Service Operations team. This Voice and Video Operations role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Voice and IPTV Services supporting both internal and external customers. Comwave provides a great learning opportunity working with a wide variety of system and network infrastructure services. It is expected that the Voice and Video Operations II has a sufficient level of knowledge and experience in Voice and Video Service Provider Environment. Comwave will provide training on technologies as required.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Voice products in a large enterprise or service provider environment. Such equipment could include: Metaswitch, Broadsoft, Ribbon/Genband, Oracle Acme Packet, AudioCodes, Sonus, Cisco, and more.
  • Experience working with IPTV products in a large enterprise or service provider environment. Such equipment could include: IPTV Head-ends, Set-top-boxes, DRM, CDN, and more.
  • Knowledge Video and Audio delivery technologies such as HLS or DASH. Should be able to troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to IPTV services.
  • Working knowledge of diagnosing IPTV and Multicast related issues using tools such as Wireshark/Tshark, Netflow, IPTV Monitoring systems, etc.
  • Experience working with Network Monitoring systems to diagnose incidents or chronic problems.
  • Working knowledge/ability of diagnosing network related issues using tools such as Wireshark/Tshark.
  • Working knowledge in VoIP/Voice protocols including SIP, SS7, SIGTRAN, Megaco, RTP, etc.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Teams and Office 365 environment and MS Teams Direct Routing.
  • Working experience with Cisco Web Ex for Broadworks and Web Ex Control Hub.
  • Working experience with optical equipment and lighting dark fiber an asset.
  • Understanding the networking requirements as they pertain to VoIP/Video and Home Internet users.
  • Able to work in a very fast paced environment and provide significant contributions both individually and as part of a greater team.
  • Able to learn and adapt to new services, systems, and technologies in an ever-growing technical infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in Voice/IPTV domain; or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Voice and IPTV networking environment by implementing configuration; executing installation; enforcing system standards. Environment consists of Voice Core and Edge, SS7 and TDM Network, IPTV Content (Aggregation & Delivery) Network, Headend and Middleware which includes Core Network, Access Network, Distribution Network and Viewing Devices.
  • Provide Level 2 Support to all Front-line teams, Network Operations Centre, Business & Residential Technical Support for all Comwave services. This will encompass very complex single user cases as well as network-wide related cases relating to Voice and IPTV services.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Share a 24/7 weekly on-call rotation with Network Administrators (1 week on, 5 weeks off).
  • Share a weekly planned overnight maintenance duty with Network Administrators (1 week on, 5 weeks off).
  • Work closely with the System, Voice, IPTV and Network Engineering teams on service delivery projects in functions including (but not limited to) system deployment, configuration, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Work closely with commercial vendors and carriers for escalating service, application and configuration related issues/questions.
  • Provide ongoing training documentation and hands-on guidance for alert handling procedures to Network Operations teams.
  • Assist in the provisioning of complex services for Wholesale/Business clients.
  • Responsible for providing root cause analysis for all network-wide events that affect IPTV and Voice service uptime.
  • Responsible for escalating design level related issues with encouraged solutions to engineering teams to better the overall delivery of services to customers.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
