About The Position

NewGen Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a program in Columbia, MD. This role requires an active TS/SCI Full Scope Poly clearance. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial, as well as deploying, installing, and implementing hardware. They will prepare specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirements, conduct site surveys, and prepare engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages. The role involves configuring and documenting configurations of computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment, and preparing site installations and test reports. Ensuring problems are properly identified and solutions meet user requirements is key. The Systems Administrator will also prepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologies and provide specific input to the hardware components of system design, including end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. The role requires coordination with team members in project management, security, asset management, customer service, or help desk departments to solve problems and manage projects. Conflict resolution, analytical, and decision-making skills are crucial. Demonstrated experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager and networking is required. Knowledge of Land Mobile Radio, e911 systems, and video teleconferencing is a plus.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Full Scope Poly clearance required.
  • Five (5) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Certification
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager and networking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Conflict resolution, analytical, and decision-making skills are crucial.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Land Mobile Radio, e911 systems, and video teleconferencing a plus.
