The Voice Data (V/D) Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for voice and data networks on commercial and industrial job sites. This position works alongside a crew of technicians and ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.

Requirements

Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for voice and data networks on commercial and industrial job sites.
Work alongside a crew of technicians.
Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project drawings, and specifications.
Experience installing, terminating, testing, and labeling copper and fiber optic cabling.
Experience managing materials, tools, and equipment.
Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
Experience conducting quality control checks and testing using certification tools (e.g., Fluke testers).
Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Ability to report job status, delays, or issues to the Project Manager or Superintendent.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily activities of V/D technicians and installers.
Read and interpret blueprints, project drawings, and specifications to plan installations.
