About The Position

The Vocational Specialist will participate as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, working in collaboration with the Team Leader/LPHA on the clinical needs of an assigned caseload. This role provides PROS members with employment counseling, advocating services, and benefit counseling (Social Services, Social Security, Medicaid). The specialist performs job development and career development activities, completes quarterly state-required reports, and develops/facilitates class curriculum for skill-building classes. Services may be provided individually or in groups, including CRS, IR, Clinical Symptom Monitoring, and ORS interventions as outlined in the PROS participant IRP. Symptom monitoring services will be reviewed and co-signed by MD/RN. The specialist facilitates assessments and individual recovery plans (IRPs), including vocational and psychiatric rehabilitation assessments, ensuring participants have clearly defined recovery goals, particularly employment. Documentation must be completed within designated timeframes. The role utilizes recovery and person-centered approaches, including person-first language, and provides ongoing support for participants' goal acquisition. The specialist participates fully in Quality Improvement activities, collaborates with primary care providers and the multidisciplinary team, and incorporates professional supervision and education into practice. Safe driving practices are expected in accordance with Rochester Regional Health’s driver policy. Job Development Activities include networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees; locating and documenting employers with established relationships for hiring PROS participants; communicating leads and opportunities with team members and participants; creating industry contacts; attending professional meetings; maintaining regular contact with potential employers; representing RRH and PROS positively; and developing working relationships with external parties to aid in job development.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Service Field, Business or related field required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • One to two years of job development, Talent Acquisition, training specialist or case management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in and incorporates professional supervision and education into practice.
  • Promotes and demonstrates good communication and team work through participation in daily staff meetings, case conferences and team meetings.
  • Demonstrates safe driving practices in accordance with Rochester Regional Health’s driver policy.
