About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Vocational Specialist (Qualified Professional – QP) to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on helping individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) obtain and maintain meaningful employment while supporting recovery, independence, and community integration. As a member of the ACTT multidisciplinary team, you will provide community-based vocational services using a person-centered approach to assist clients in achieving their employment goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field.
  • Must meet Qualified Professional (QP) status requirements under 10A NCAC 27G.0104.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally to provide community-based services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing vocational services, supported employment, workforce development, case management, or community mental health services preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based supported employment models, including Individual Placement and Support (IPS), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in identifying career interests, strengths, and employment goals.
  • Provide individualized job development and employment support services in the community.
  • Build relationships with local employers and community partners to create employment opportunities.
  • Support clients throughout the job search process, including resume development, applications, interview preparation, and job placement.
  • Provide ongoing job coaching and employment retention services to help clients maintain successful employment.
  • Educate employers and community partners about ACTT services and supported employment principles.
  • Collaborate with ACTT team members to integrate vocational goals into treatment and recovery plans.
  • Deliver services in client homes, workplaces, and other community settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ACTT team meetings and treatment planning.
