About The Position

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are cultivating a WARP Multidisciplinary Clinic and looking to staff Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to provide their services to veterans in our Rockville, MD headquarters.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or a closely related counseling discipline.
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential or eligibility to obtain it within an established period.
  • Knowledge of disability law, accommodations and vocational-assessment practices.
  • Valid driver’s license when community or employer visits are required.
  • CRCs are graduate-level professionals trained to help people with disabilities achieve personal, vocational and independent-living goals. CRCC certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Veterans, TBI, autism, serious mental illness or physical disability.
  • Knowledge of VA VR&E, Ticket to Work and Maryland vocational-rehabilitation programs.
  • Assistive-technology or supported-employment experience.
  • Licensed professional counselor credential where clinical counseling will be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vocational interviews, transferable-skills assessments and employment-readiness evaluations.
  • Identify how physical, cognitive, behavioral or developmental conditions affect work.
  • Develop individualized vocational rehabilitation plans.
  • Provide career counseling, goal setting and job-readiness training.
  • Coordinate functional-capacity, ergonomic and workplace-accommodation assessments.
  • Assist with résumés, interviewing, job search and employer communication.
  • Coordinate with state vocational rehabilitation, VA Veteran Readiness and Employment, workforce agencies and educational institutions.
  • Support reasonable-accommodation and return-to-work planning.
  • Engage employers regarding job carving, modified duty and retention strategies.
  • Coordinate benefits counseling and referral when employment could affect public benefits.
  • Track employment placement, retention, hours, wages and satisfaction.
  • Participate in care conferences and discharge planning.
