About The Position

CARC, INC. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Floater to work with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in our Vocational Department. The role involves delivering high-quality vocational training and instruction tailored to the unique needs and abilities of adult learners. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized training programs, evaluating progress, and providing ongoing support to ensure success in the workplace. This position plays a crucial role in empowering students with IDD to gain valuable skills and achieve their vocational goals.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age, with a good driving record.
Ability to pass New Mexico Department of Health background checks and meet any specific requirements for working with adults with IDD.
Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds.
Flexibility in working with a diverse population of adult learners with IDD and adapting instruction to meet their individual needs.
Strong passion for vocational education and empowering individuals with IDD to achieve their vocational goals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of professionals.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on promoting independence and self-advocacy.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver individualized vocational training programs based on the abilities and goals of adult learners with IDD.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement, independence and self-confidence.
Hands-on personal care of clients when necessary.
Assess individual progress regularly and provide constructive feedback and support to maximize learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of individuals progress and services provided.
