About The Position

Helio Health is seeking a Vocational Counselor II for its Insights of Helio Health Program in Gloversville, New York. The role assists clients in achieving a recovery lifestyle and meeting their vocational rehabilitation needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $34.00–$36.00 per hour. The position is eligible for a sign-on incentive of up to $8,000, depending on licensure.

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling or another related discipline.
• Vocational rehabilitation counseling experience.
• Knowledge of community educational and vocational resources.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Valid New York State driver's license.
• Equivalent alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• QHP qualification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group vocational counseling, including vocational and educational assessment, arranging referrals for additional vocational assessments, treatment planning, expressive and experiential therapy modalities, didactic lectures, job preparation and ongoing job development training, discharge planning, and record-keeping.
• Work with community organizations and agencies to enhance vocational and living skills programming.
• Provide services in accordance with agency policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
• Evaluate programming, identify strengths and problems, assist with problem resolution, and implement appropriate program modifications.
• Participate in assigned committees.
• Maintain appropriate program records and statistical accountability.
• Represent the program to the community.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
