About The Position

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a VNA Forklift Operator for their 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario. The role involves hands-on work in a supportive, safety-focused environment, contributing to getting products to stores and customers.

Requirements

  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards
  • Capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy objects throughout shift
  • Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment
  • Punctual, self-motivated, attention to detail and spatially aware of surroundings
  • Basic math and PC skills
  • Experience operating a forklift and working comfortably at heights of 30 feet
  • Complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in-house certification (mandatory condition of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Drive Narrow Aisle and High Bay Reach trucks through high trafficked areas to service Order Pickers and VNA Forklift Operators with a focus on safe and efficient operation
  • Follow Warehouse Management System directions and supervisor directions to replenish and put away in both conventional and Symbotic racking areas
  • Identify SKU number and quantity to accurately scan and put away items from one location to another
  • Identify and account for damages by moving damaged cases to the designated area
  • Maintain a daily productivity count
  • Support other departments when necessary as directed by the supervisor
