About The Position

CTI Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to find a VMware vSAN Administrator/Engineer for their infrastructure team based in Durham, NC (hybrid). This team is modernizing data center infrastructure across multiple sites, moving off legacy virtualization platforms onto VMware Broadcom vSAN. You'll be hands-on from hardware deployment through cluster configuration and live migration, working directly with architects and operations teams to stand up reliable, high-performing infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure and virtualization experience
• 3+ years hands-on with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN
• Hands-on experience deploying enterprise server hardware platforms (racking, cabling, firmware)
• Strong understanding of storage architecture, performance tuning, and data protection
• Proficiency configuring VLANs, distributed switches, and VMkernel networking
• Experience migrating off legacy virtualization platforms
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification
• Willingness to travel 20-30% and perform on-call support as needed

Nice To Haves

• VMware Certified Associate (VCA) or higher certification
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience
• VMware NSX networking knowledge
• Backup and disaster recovery experience

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure VMware Broadcom vSAN infrastructure across multiple sites
• Perform site readiness assessments for power, cooling, network, and rack space
• Rack, cable, and configure physical server hardware for vSAN deployments
• Install and maintain ESXi hosts, vCenter, and vSAN clusters
• Configure vSAN storage policies, VMkernel networking, and distributed switches
• Support VM migration from legacy virtualization platforms, including dependency mapping
• Perform health checks, failover testing, and performance monitoring
• Provide Level 2/3 operational support and build documentation and runbooks
