About The Position
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program relies on community members to help others receive their tax refunds. Training is provided for all volunteers, even those who have never prepared taxes before. There are several roles available within the VITA team to serve the community.
Requirements
- No IRS certification required (for Administrative Support role).
Responsibilities
- Assist with follow-up appointment calls.
- Assist with data entry, packet assembly, and other supports as needed.
- Greet clients and help complete intake forms.
- Support and assist tax preparers with client documents.
- Collect and verify all necessary documents and scan for preparer.
- Prepare and electronically file tax returns for clients.
- Review tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
