About The Position

Q4 is looking for a Visual Systems Technician to work with visual rendering and image projection of flight simulators visual training environment. The visual display system solutions consist of multiple projection channels, wide angle collimated and direct projection optical displays as used in modern flight simulators as well as the subsequent installation, alignment, tuning and testing of the visual systems in both the Company’s plant and at the customer site. The position will initially include the installation of cabling, hardware, and means for calibration in preparation for performance of published test procedures used to establish the performance of the delivered visual system with our customer. The ideal candidate will have experience with DLP video projection technologies, high performance optical systems, fiber optic cabling, mechanical projector alignment, 3-Dimensional geometry and imaging/visualization principles and be versed in both hand and power tooling. They will be a self-starter with the ability to resolve problems effectively and efficiently within a team environment and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience as Integrator and Maintainer of Large Venue Visual Systems, Simulator Maintenance Technician, CRT Projector and/or Fixed Matrixed Projector Repair and Calibration Technician.
  • Experience with DLP video projection technologies.
  • Experience with high performance optical systems.
  • Experience with fiber optic cabling.
  • Experience with mechanical projector alignment.
  • Knowledge of 3-Dimensional geometry and imaging/visualization principles.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tooling.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in small confined spaces (simulator cockpits).
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Must be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.62 of the ITAR.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the setup and calibration of multi-projection Visual Display Systems is a plus.
