About The Position

The Pottery Barn Visual Merchandising Team is responsible for creating compelling seasonal floor sets in partnership with cross-functional merchant partners, while maximizing retail sales and supporting our brands' big bets. It is our job to inspire and attract customers by delivering an outstanding and engaging customer experience through visual merchandising. We want to ensure that each seasonal floorset is densified to maximize POS businesses and drive brand reappraisal. As a Visual Coordinator on the Visual Merchandising Team, you will create seasonal, inspirational in-store displays. This role partners with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to drive both brand reappraisal and business growth related to the tabletop division. This role may, at times, also support their manager with furniture and lighting. In this influential role, it is necessary to be able to manage every aspect of visual merchandising from start to finish for each season. This will require the necessary skills of conceptualization, creation, implementation, and communication in successfully bringing this role to life. The ability to receive feedback and adapt to different scenarios and creatively troubleshoot is critical. Strong communication skills are essential for building relationships with cross-functional partners, and corporate and field visual teams.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years retail or related creative field
  • BS/BA required in design, art or related degree
  • Strong creative vision and an inspired point of view
  • Ability to work with tools and be mobile when setting floor sets for extended periods of time
  • Prioritize projects effectively and organize work load based on urgency and importance
  • Ability to set realistic short- and long-term goals
  • Excellent communication skills: written & verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Correctly identifies problems and is resourceful in finding solutions
  • Knowledge in visual merchandising techniques, standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc and Microsoft excel

Responsibilities

  • Work with merchants to seasonally plan and map TT immediately following adoption. Align with and develop seasonal assortment strategies. Make appropriate recommendations as needed to affect/influence assortment.
  • Assist PD with seasonal concept setups, merchants with FLR set-ups, and lead retail floorset execution for the tabletop division.
  • Ensure that the full retail assortment has a home either on features or in destinations on floorplan.
  • Help implement/roll out new strategies - Support all tiering strategies.
  • Own feature SKU list/assortment seasonally for photobook communications team.
  • Tabletop destination support/editing and communication for all things related to Tabletop – ensure that visual direction for field is robust and clear.
  • This role is based 50% in the office and 50% working in retail stores. When working in the office, you will be in-person Monday through Thursday and WFH Friday.
