About The Position

Acuren is recruiting a Visual Inspector III - API 510/570/653 to service several client sites across the Midwest and support operations in Duluth, Minnesota. The inspector provides advanced technical oversight and ensures consistent application of visual inspection standards. Responsibilities may include reviewing and approving inspection procedures, interpreting complex specifications, making accept/reject decisions on critical components, leading projects, providing technical direction to lower-level inspectors, and liaising with engineering, quality, and client representatives. The position requires extensive experience, API certification, and strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

Certification in API 510, API 570, and API 653 standards.
5–8 years of experience or more than 5 years of on-site experience.
In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
Ability to travel 70% or more.

Nice To Haves

Additional CWI or NCCER Level 2 certification.

Responsibilities

Perform visual and non-destructive examinations of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with API standards and ASME requirements, at the client's direction.
Submit technically accurate reports to the client documenting equipment condition.
Provide technical recommendations for the repair, re-rating, replacement, or alteration of plant equipment to support safe operation within specified operating parameters and durations.
Provide technical input to the client on welding and metallurgical issues as required.
Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
Comply with Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
Travel as needed; the requirements specify the ability to travel 70% or more.
